"Grace O'Malley" 30"x30"

This 30”x30” painting is made with acrylics, spray paint, oil pastels and charcoal. It’s funny when you look at an abstract, certain images start to form. For my daughter, she sees a bowl full of blueberries but I see a pirate ship out in the ocean. Grace O’Malley was the name of an infamous Irish female pirate who was dubbed “pirate queen”.  She was female power in a male-dominated world and lived a life on her own terms. Mad respect for the Pirate Queen!
